Hi everyone! This is my second blog post (but should really be my first)

Hi everyone! This is my second blog post (but should really be my first)

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I have been wanting to start a new blog (I blogged about 10 years ago when I was still in high school and when Blogspot first came out) and I’m excited that I finally bit the bullet on a domain name and hosting to start this personal blog.

I am a 27 year old from Sydney, Australia. I graduated from a 6 year university degree (triple major, double degree) in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and Engineering (Civil). I did a half year exchange program in George Washington University in D.C (when Trump got elected) and participated in the largest protest (Women’s March) that I have ever experienced.

In my day job, I work as a senior analyst in the real estate acquisitions team of one of the top 20 asset managers in the world (by AUM). Prior to that I was in the Real Advisory team in a big 4 accounting firm.

In my spare time, I’m also mostly thinking or doing things related to real estate (as my parents are also real estate investors). I have 1 investment property and 1 home that I co-own with my partner and along with my student debt of around $50k, it means I am highly leveraged.

What made me start this blog is four fold:

  • I have never been too good with my budget and savings and hopefully by starting this blog I can make myself accountable to start paying down a lot of the debt I have at the moment
  • I want to record my journey in property investing and share the knowledge and learnings I’ve gained throughout this process
  • I want a forum to record my thoughts and my life to serve as a form of scrap book of memories I can look back on
  • I want the blog to be my side hustle and derive some form of income from this by learning about adsense, affiliate marketing and more so I can diversify my income stream and pay down my debts even faster

Now your turn: do you have a blog and what made you start blogging? Interested to also hear from other property investment blogs out there as well 🙂
